Bailey Bridge

Used the Airfix kit to knock up a bailey bridge for my British forces to use ...

Glider safely down ....

Finally got round to making the Italeri Horsa glider kit given to me some time ago. As the finished item is intended as a scenic item only I left off a few pieces of the kit - mostly the undercarriage parts.

I did the white banding using inkjet sticky labels cut into strips; I gave the glider a quick coat of satin varnish (slightly glossy) to protect it a bit. The wings are held onto the fuselage with  blue-tak so I can store it more easily.

Here tis then, with some paratroopers look suitably busy getting themselves organized ....

Home Guard Town - Civilians (2) ...

Some more for my 'Home Guard'  town, (from Steve Barber Models 25mm Prohibition Wars range), a shopkeeper and some armed civilians - who could be used as Home Guard out of uniform or maybe black marketeers or fifth columnists.

Stuka down ...

Picked up a cheap model of a Stuka at a Toy&Train fair a couple of months ago - finally decided what to do with it - made iinto one which had been shot down but managed to reach the ground in one piece and 'belly flopped'.

Something for the home guard to check out ..

Generic ruined buildings

knocked up a few generic ruined buildings, made from foam board on MDF bases. painted in a basic scheme - perhaps a wash of dark grey may make them less' yellowy'. These will see service in my WW2 games and probably pop-up elsewhere too

Home Guard Town - Civilians ...

A few civilians for my 'Home Guard' town, these are from the Steve Barber Models 25mm Prohibition Wars, and a just about a match for size to the figures I used for my home guard platoon.  

 

German Staff Car

an old toy car - in reasonable condition - added a driver so it can be used as a german staff car; something for the resistance to shoot at maybe

Early war project (1940) ...
