I picked up a cheap Airfix airfield control tower kit at a Toy&Tain fair a while back. I built it recently an left it for a while to let all the glue go off before I did the hand rails. I was going to use thread but after a try this was way too fiddly, I did consider some thin plastic rod but hadn't got any so I went with some thin wire - fixing it with super glue..
few more bits of wire to add then I can get it painted...

at the airfield
At a German airfield somewhere in Brittany ..
a staff car is on its way down the road with an escort ...
the staff car turns into the airfield .....
and drives over to a waiting JU52, General von Tiddenheim and his aide get out of the car ...
they are on their way to Berlin for an invasion planning meeting ....
[new items: two watchtowers from a cheap pack of toy soldiers, JU52 repainted.]

making the best of a battered JU52 - WIP
I picked up a very cheap JU52 of EBAY, in a sorry state with no propeller blades and with some loose bits . So after sticking the loose bits back on, main issues were:
Well with some basic repairs it sits level and looks ok enough for use as a backdrop/story line piece
will leave all the glue and filler to set hard and then paint it......
- damaged tailplane, top of vertical stabiliser and the rudder missing, made repairs with some thin card with edges hardened with superglue.
- a missing wheel strut - a pice of thick wire and some green stuff for a basic repair
- cockpit glass - rather fogged with glue damage.
sanded it down with wet and dry paper
then applied some gloss varnish - somewhat better

On the way to England ....
A new german spy is to be sent into England to join the ones on the south coast, she will carry new instructions and provide some extra help which they badly need. Rosa Muhlfeld had worked with men who were currently in and around Frezingham before. Her cover was to be Mrs Robinson, wife of an assistant traveling salesman. She had made her preparations and was being taken to catch her 'drop-off' plane ...
At the airfield the ground crew were finishing getting the Storsch ready ...
she arrived and got ready to go, receiving some last minute instructions ....
The plane moved off and revved up its engines .....
and was soon in the air and on its way ......
after flying across the channel the plane will land to drop her off 'Somewhere in England' ...

Scenics: Station Buildings ...
Have done up a couple of old plastic buildings I picked up at a Toy&Train fair.
An old Triang station building to be used for a french station ...
this just had a quick paint job and a couple of french 1930s poster adverts added...
For a british station building I found an old Airfix item, I added extra height of about 1cm and made a few repairs ...
then a simple paint scheme with the odd advert poster,
these buildings will make a good addition to my gaming and story line scenic items.
