Trying to work out a scenario for Resistance to attack a German railway gun. The railway guns were usually positioned by a diesel loco, so I opted for the old Dapol/Kitmaster 0-6-0 BR Diesel kit. Its sort of about right - and will do as a game piece.
The railway gun and diesel loco (actually OO/HO), more suitable for 1/72 - but as backdrop items they don't look to out of scale with a German sentry 28mm figure.

I like that gun model 👍
I bought the gun model off Ebay - it is an American HO one manufactured by Cox, which someone had re-painted as a German one.
Good looking railway gun and Diesel, both work pretty well with your 28mm sentry I think?
Best Iain
Although 1/72 the gun and diesel loco work very well with 28mm figures. I use OO/HO railway track and rolling stock for my games as they make. If the 28mm figures have to get on or off the train they do need to be bigger; I had to build some specials for my adventure games (example shown here ... http://carryonchaps.blogspot.com/2024/05/taking-on-water-at-harira.html)
I love railway guns … and this is a very nice one!
At the beginning of WW2 the British Army wanted to deploy railway guns along the south coast to support the coastal defence batteries. The story goes that they went to the Woolwich Arsenal to find out what heavy guns were available … and found a number in storage in a huge hanger/store shed out on the marshes that had been put in store in 1919 and forgotten about.
All the best,
Bob
